The sale of RBS England & Wales branches and accounts
As you may be aware, the European commission requires us to sell part of our UK banking business, as a result of the state aid we received in 2009. We're currently reviewing our plans for the sale.
What's included in the sale
The sale will include:
- RBS branches in England and Wales
- NatWest branches in Scotland
- Personal and Private Banking customer accounts attached to these branches
- Certain accounts held by Business and Commercial customers attached to these branches
- RBS and NatWest Direct banking division
- Certain mid-corporate customers across the UK.
We'll continue to help with your banking
We'd like to thank you for continuing to choose us for your banking.
There's no need to do anything and it's very much business as usual. You can continue to use our branches, and our products and services just as you do at the moment.
We'll continue to keep you informed and give you plenty of notice if there are any changes that affect you.
